digital cameras and photo printers?

Helloo, I was thinking about getting one of those printers that print pictures off of your digital cameras. Do you know what I’m talking about?
What would you recommend? Do they really work that well, or am I better off developing my pictures at the store?

What’s the best place to get photos developed onto a disc?

I went on a class trip and our teachers told us not to bring digital cameras, but disposable ones so it’s not much of a big deal if they get lost or dropped in a puddle. I took tons of pictures and I would rather get them on a disc so I can upload them to my computer easier. Then, I can upload them onto my Facebook and print them with our photo printer. Where is the best (and cheapest)place to do this? Bear in mind that I live in a small area with no Kodak store. One camera is Target brand and the other is a Kodak Funsaver that I got in a giftshop.

can you use a casio EX-Z75BK 7.2MP Digital Camera on a HP® A432 Photosmart Portable Photo Printer?

Is it acceptable to take your own FOID photo?

I’m planning on getting my Illinois FOID card, but I’m not sure what is accepted as a photo.

Would my application be accepted if I took a picture with a digital camera, resized it, and printed in on standard printer paper?

I want to make sure that I scan my old photos in the best possible manner.?

I want a scanner which will scan my pictures into a result which is a high resolution ( high DPI say 800 ? I have no idea what I am talking about actually in these brackets ) So please suggest a top class scanner ( if possible at a good price as well )

Note 1 – my digital photos which are shot by a 8 megapixel and saved, cropped and edited on Picassa. I would want my old photos scanned into a result which is near the same as the result I get from my snaps taken by the 8 Mega pixel so that I can work well on them in Picassa .

Note 2 . This new printer – fax – scanner, is it any good or is it just a jack of all trades, master of none ?

How do I calibrate my computer screen to be a true representation of my digital photos when printed?

I have a very nice/expensive DSLR camera, some nice digital photo editing software, and a beautiful hp computer screen to view them on. The pictures look WONDERFUL on the computer screen, but when I try to print them they look SIGNIFICANTLY different… colors are muted (esp. reds), all of the photos print much darker, in short.. they’re disappointing. I have the same problem when I send my photos to a photo lab and have them printed (i.e. Walmart or Target) and when I print them on my printer at home. How do I get my photos to print the way they appear on my computer?

I was thinking that I need to calibrate my computer screen to better represent the colors that are going to be printed? Please help me solve this problem!

Can’t get a Canon MP760 All-in-One Printer to run from a USB 2.0 port?

It seems that they are meant to:

“Whether you work with film or with a digital camera, the $300 Canon Pixma MP760 is a great multifunction unit for printing photos. It’s one of only two MFPs we’ve tested so far that include a film holder and a light in the lid for scanning slides and negatives (the other is the Epson Stylus Photo RX620). The MP760’s card slots can read most memory formats (other than XD Picture Cards), and images transfer swiftly to a PC through the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port. Alternatively, you can connect a PictBridge-compatible camera to the MP760’s direct-print port.” – from http://www.pcworld.com/printable/article/id,120684/printable.html
and yet mine won’t!? I plug it into the usb port onboard and it says “Do you realise that this device can run much faster from a usb 2.0 port?” so I swap it across to the usb 2.0 hub and it’s “device not recognisable”
Any hints anyone?
Cheers
Oz
Thx Qu1ck80, I’m running XP sp2 and using the latest Canon drivers, though they’re none too recent. The Canon MP760 is getting on now and there’s not a lot of interest in it.
