‘printing’

Hi, I studied arts, but specialized in painting. Now I’m working on some digital images, and my question is how to print them to look good and to last as long as possible. I know there are pigment printers, but I don’t know where I could find one near Mexico City.
Sending them to any standard photolab would do the job?
I would like to print them like 1×2 ft. aprox.

I’m trying to make 2 postcard add for some DVDs I’m trying to sell.
I’ve already got the Images and the wording laid out how I want it, but whenever I print them out they come out off to the side.

So looking at it a large chunk or portion of the ad that i created is missing. Usually the bottom and the right edges are chopped off while the left and top side are way too low.

What should I do to get my postcard image directly centered on the Paper?

Went to preferences 4×6 photo paper, glossy, best photo
Leave Margins, Load photo paper in and it still comes out off to the side, the print comes out with a portion of my picture missing.

What should be done to fix this?

I have a large format Mutoh printer. Prints up to 4 feet wide. When printing out photos taken with a digital camera, how much difference is there between a 5, 10, and 20 mega pixel camera photo? In the past, I have read that anything over 5 mega pixels is not noticeable, but, when enlarging it to poster size, is there a noticable difference?

My nephew just bought a Kodak C813 digital camera and I was thinking about giving him a printer for Christmas. He is going to school so he doesn´t have a bunch of money to waste on consumables i.e. ink refills,paper etc. so it would be nice to have the best of both worlds.

I am looking for a printer in the price range of about $300-$600 that will print professional quality at home. I need this to print out photo announcements. I am not really worried about speed. I am more concerned about the photo quality. I would like bigger sizes also (i.e 13 x 19), but this is not a must. Any suggestions would be great! Please help!!

And then – what is the best way to print them? A home large-format printer? Or professionally? I’m an aspiring amateur.

If I want to print art-quality photo images, what paper, ink, and printer would you recommend?

First, I know very little about digital photo’s.
I bought a Canon Powershot SD1000 7.1 megapixel camera recently….. Also my old printer quit recently and I bought a Canon PIXMA MP470 all-in-one photo printer recently.
To get photo’s, should I print out pics on my printer, or should I have a photo place develop these pics ?
Does printing digital photos use a lot of ink ?
I have printed out a couple of pics with fairly good results.
Should I try to print out pics on 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 or what ?
What are the costs involved ?

Any suggestions ?
